QPJC Women's Self Defence 

In keeping with the our vision to improve lives and contribute to a better world through judo we are going to offer a Short-Term Judo for Self-defense Course for Women 17 years and over.

Queen's Park Judo Club dojo
53A Cascade Road (cor. Julien Trace), Cascade

Time Frame
This course begins Wed. January 9th and ends Wed. July 3rd 2019 . It is divided into two modules which covers the two main areas of judo practice - Throwing and Grappling.

Course Make-up (21 contact hours)
PERIOD 1 (Wed. Jan. 9 - Wed. Apr. 3)
  • Twelve 1-hr sessions, 6:00-7:00 PM
  • Fundamentals of Throwing Techniques
PERIOD 2 (Wed. April 24 - Wed. July 3)
  • Nine 1-hr sessions, 6:00-7:00 PM
  • Fundamentals of Grappling (Ground) Techniques
Course Objectives
  • On completion of this course the participant would be more aware of situations that could be potentially hazardous to one's safety and to identify and use the appropriate techniques for those scenarios to successfully defend oneself
A certificate of completion will be issued with a minimum of 70% attendance of both modules.

Course Requirements
  • A Declaration of Good Health - the participant must affirm that she is willing and able to undergo the rigours of judo training, which would include throws and being subjected to throws
  • A Judogi - to practice comfortably and safely the participant must wear a judo uniform. Please inquire within for options to purchase or rent a kit
Cost
  • $600 per Period ($1,200 for Periods 1 & 2) payable at the start of the Period OR
  • $200 per month payable at the beginning of each month
