QPJC Celebrates 2023 - Welcomes 2024
January 14, 2024: The club held two events in December to celebrate the Christmas season and welcome the new year.
First was our Christmas party which we held on Saturday December 15th at the dojo, the last official day of training for 2023. This was our first Christmas party since 2019, and from all accounts everyone had a great time. We had lots of food and drink, and most important of all, the people that make up QPJC - our athletes, parents, and friends - showed up to share this special time together.
Second was our Boxing Day randori (judo sparring) which became something of a tradition since 2014, to help judoka recalibrate during a season of occasional excess...two and a half weeks is a long time to be away from training! This was a pleasant experience with old and new friends coming together to train again.
I leave you with some memories of those events and hope that they were as meaningful to those who participated as they were to me. Merry Christmas everyone! I wish you a great 2024!
